چکیده

Introduction: Depressive disorders are multifactorial diseases in that a variety of factors may play role their etiology, including inflammation and abnormalities the thyroid hormone (TH) metabolism levels. The purpose this study was to evaluate iodothyronine deiodinases (DIOs) DIO-interacting cytokines as possible biomarkers diagnosis depressive disorders. Methods: This enrolled 73 patients diagnosed with recurrent disorder (rDD) 54 controls. expressions DIO1, DIO2, DIO3, IL1B, IL6, TNFA, IFNG genes, encoding three types DIOs (1, 2, 3), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interferon (IFN)-γ, were assessed using polymerase chain reaction blood cells an enzymatic immunoassay method serum. levels examined molecules between controls compared, correlations diagnostic values evaluated. Results: Lower DIO2 higher TNFA found compared protein concentrations DIO1 lower, while DIO3 higher, than Serum IL-1β, TNF-α also area under curve (AUC) proteins >0.7 for discriminating rDD from Conclusions: genes have estimation processes present We can cautiously claim pivotal cytokines, mainly IL-1β depression diagnosis, further studies suggested explain exact these larger samples more precise methods.

Peptides Derived from Mycobacterium leprae ML1601c Discriminate between Leprosy Patients and Healthy Endemic Controls

The stable incidence of new leprosy cases suggests that transmission of infection continues despite worldwide implementation of MDT. Thus, specific tools are needed to diagnose early stage Mycobacterium leprae infection, the likely sources of transmission. M. leprae antigens that induce T-cell responses in M. leprae exposed and/or infected individuals thus are major targets for new diagnostic t...

Actigraph measures discriminate pediatric bipolar disorder from attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and typically developing controls.

BACKGROUND Distinguishing pediatric bipolar disorder (BD) from attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can be challenging. Hyperactivity is a core feature of both disorders, but severely disturbed sleep and circadian dysregulation are more characteristic of BD, at least in adults. We tested the hypothesis that objective measures of activity, sleep, and circadian rhythms would help diffe...

Gene expression of peripheral blood lymphocytes may discriminate patients with schizophrenia from controls.

To identify a classifier in schizophrenia, blood gene expression profiling was applied to patients with schizophrenia under different treatments and to controls. Expression of six genes discriminated patients with sensitivity of 89.3% and specificity of 90%, supporting the use of peripheral blood as biological material for diagnosis in schizophrenia.

Affective and Emotional Temperaments: A Comparison of Individuals With Panic Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Healthy Controls

Objective: Up to now, no investigation has applied a complementary approach in terms of the emotional and affective temperament to study Panic Disorder (PD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and healthy controls. Hence the current study aimed to investigate the affective and emotional temperaments among individuals with PD, PTSD, and healthy controls using an integrative temperament scale...
